LilWin targets O2 Show, fans say he’s subtly dissing Dr. Likee

Ghanaian actor and filmmaker Kojo Nkansah has revealed ambitious plans for an upcoming international event, describing it as a large-scale production that will combine film premieres and live musical performances, while suggesting it could surpass existing UK venue standards.

Speaking in an interview, Lilwin indicated that his vision goes beyond the traditional concert format, insisting he is working on something unique that blends cinema and stage performance into one experience.

“We are going to have a show abroad. It will be bigger than the O2. If I decide to go to the O2, they will say I’m emulating someone. So mine won’t be a concert party. It will be a music show and a movie premiere,” he said.

He further explained that the planned event would not fit into standard venue expectations, arguing that the format would require a larger space than the widely known O2 Arena in London.

“I will find somewhere bigger than the O2. The O2 cannot accommodate around 400 people. It’s just a few people,” he added, stressing that the audience will experience both film and live performance in one setting.

Kojo Nkansah also teased screenings of his productions, including A Country Called Ghana, Traore, and his upcoming film A Journey to Africa, describing the project as a surprise package expected to make a strong impact.

“You see, people want to watch ‘A Country Called Ghana,’ ‘Traore’, and my new movie ‘A Journey to Africa’. It’s a surprise and will be a hit. I will mix them together. Performance and the premiere. The premiere will be like 40 minutes, then the music continues,” he said.

The comments have sparked conversation within the entertainment space, with some interpreting his remarks as a subtle response to the recent international success of fellow comedian Dr Likee, who recently staged a successful show in London. While Kojo Nkansah did not directly mention him, the comparison has fueled online debate about rivalry and ambition within Ghana’s comedy and film industry.

Industry observers note that the proposal reflects a growing trend among Ghanaian entertainers seeking to expand their reach beyond traditional formats, blending film premieres with live entertainment to attract diaspora audiences.
