LilWin crowned Best Actor at 15th Ghana Movie Awards
Ghanaian actor and filmmaker Kwadwo Nkansah, popularly known as LilWin, emerged as one of the biggest winners at the 15th edition of the Ghana Movie Awards after clinching the prestigious Best Actor in a Leading Role award.
The celebrated actor earned the recognition for his role in the movie Captain Ibrahim Traoré, a performance that has received widespread attention among movie lovers and industry players.
The glamorous awards ceremony took place on Sunday, June 7, 2026, at the Kempinski Hotel Gold Coast City in Accra and brought together several stars and key figures within Ghana’s entertainment industry.
Although LilWin was absent from the event, a representative from his team stepped forward to receive the award on his behalf and used the opportunity to express gratitude to Ghanaians for supporting the actor throughout his career.
“We want to thank Ghanaians for the support you have given him from the beginning of his journey until now. We are grateful. He is deeply committed to producing movies every year and making history for Ghana,” the representative stated while receiving the plaque.
Over the years, LilWin has built a strong reputation in Ghana’s movie industry not only as an actor but also as a producer through his Wezzyempire brand, contributing significantly to the growth of local-language films and comedy productions.
The event also celebrated other outstanding personalities in the film industry. Popular actress Felicity Ama Agyemang, widely known as Nana Ama McBrown, was named Favourite Movie Actress of the Year, while comedian and actor Ebenezer Akwasi Antwi, popularly called Dr Likee, received recognition for his remarkable contribution to the Ghanaian movie industry.
Several notable personalities graced the occasion, including actress Jackie Appiah, actor and Deputy Executive Secretary of the National Film Authority James Gardiner, and other industry stakeholders.
The Ghana Movie Awards remains one of the country’s biggest platforms dedicated to celebrating excellence in filmmaking, acting, directing, and content creation within Ghana’s growing entertainment sector.
