NAIMOS gets new Director of Operations

Colonel K.S. Appiah has officially assumed duty as the new Director of Operations at the National Anti-Illegal Mining Operations Secretariat (NAIMOS), replacing Colonel Dominic Buah, who previously held the position.

The transition was formalised during a handover ceremony held on Thursday, June 11, 2026.

According to government sources, the change is part of routine strategic personnel deployments aimed at strengthening operational effectiveness and improving efficiency within the organisation.

During the ceremony, Colonel Buah formally handed over responsibilities of the Operations Directorate to Colonel Appiah, signalling a new phase in leadership at the Secretariat.

The leadership change is expected to enhance coordination and support NAIMOS’ ongoing efforts to combat illegal mining activities, commonly known as galamsey, across the country.
