“Otabil is right! Most pastors are fake” — Opambour
Ghanaian preacher Prophet Ebenezer Adarkwa Yiadom, popularly known as Opambour or Prophet One, has defended Rev. Dr. Mensa Otabil amid criticism over the latter’s comments about the conduct of some prophets.
In a video circulating on social media, the founder of Ebenezer Miracle Worship Centre said he saw no problem with Otabil’s message, arguing that dishonesty exists across professions, including religious leadership.
“Most pastors in the country are fake. In every profession, we have fake people. Even in Islam, we have fake Mallams, so I don’t have anything against Mensa Otabil’s message,” Opambour said.
He urged ministers who know they are not genuinely called by God to take the criticism seriously and change their ways, while those who believe in their calling should concentrate on their work rather than attack Otabil.
“If you know you are a fake man of God, repent. And if you are a true man of God, focus on your calling and work. There is no need to insult Mensa Otabil,” he added.
Otabil, founder and General Overseer of the International Central Gospel Church (ICGC), has faced reactions from some religious figures following remarks about what he considers questionable conduct among prophets. Opambour’s intervention adds another voice to the debate over accountability and authenticity in Ghana’s Christian community.
