Adwoa Smart breaks down in tears as Maame Gold gifts her a fully furnished one-bedroom house

Veteran Ghanaian actress Belinda Naa Ode Oku, popularly known as Adwoa Smart, has received a fully furnished one-bedroom house from businesswoman and philanthropist Maame Gold after losing her previous home to flooding.

The actress was overcome with emotion when she was taken to inspect the new property, located at East Legon Hills, in a surprise presentation organised by Maame Gold and her associates.

Adwoa Smart had earlier appealed for assistance after revealing that heavy rains had repeatedly damaged her residence at Abossey Okai, destroying personal belongings and making life difficult for her.

Expressing her appreciation in a video circulating on social media, the actress said the gift was more than she had imagined and thanked her benefactor for coming to her aid.

“I don’t even know what to say because this is beyond my imagination. I want to tell her that I am grateful for what she has done for me, and may the good Lord bless her. I was at Abossey Okai, and whenever it rained, the rain would destroy all our properties. But I am happy because I have moved from there to East Legon Hills, and I feel proud of Maame Gold, myself and the Almighty God,” she said.

Explaining what inspired the gesture, Maame Gold disclosed that she became concerned after witnessing the damage to the actress’s belongings when she dropped her off at her former residence.

She said Adwoa Smart was reluctant to seek help despite her difficult circumstances, prompting her, together with the Maame Gold Foundation and some friends, to arrange the surprise.

“Sister Adwoa is someone we all watched. When she was at her peak, I wasn’t in Ghana, but I liked her the first day I saw her. She came to my place one time, so when I was dropping her off, I noticed that the rain had destroyed all her things. She is someone who doesn’t like to beg. So, I, together with Maame Gold Foundation and some friends, decided to put all these together. We decided to surprise her,” she explained.

Maame Gold further revealed that plans were underway to help the actress establish a business to provide her with an additional source of income and improve her financial stability.

The gesture has attracted positive reactions online, with many Ghanaians praising the businesswoman for supporting the veteran actress during a difficult period.

For Adwoa Smart, the house represents more than a new place to live; it offers a fresh start after the difficulties she experienced at her former residence.
