Another Ghanaian reportedly found dead at a dumpsite in the Bronx

The Ghanaian community in the Bronx, New York, has been hit by another tragedy following the death of 24-year-old Joseph Owusu, whose body was reportedly found at a dumpsite about two weeks after he went missing.

According to a social media post by UglyGod on November 3, 2026, the body was discovered among refuse by a scrap collector.

His death comes days after Ghanaian teenager Javits Frimpong was shot dead on Thursday, October 29, 2026, adding to the grief of the Ghanaian community.

Joseph was a member of the Ghana United Methodist Church in the Bronx, where he served as an organist.

In a tribute shared online by Stiry Bee, the late organist is described as a very caring person who left a lasting impression on the people around him.

The tribute highlighted his kindness and willingness to support others, noting that he enjoyed spending time with his friends and family.

He is also remembered as a dedicated church member whose musical talent and warm personality made him a valued part of the congregation.

“Whether through a thoughtful word, a listening ear, or simply being present when someone needed him, he made a meaningful impression on the people around him. Joseph embraced life with enthusiasm and authenticity. He found happiness in spending time with family, enjoying good company, and pursuing the dreams he held for his future. His generosity and steady presence helped build relationships that his loved ones will continue to cherish.

“As family and friends reflect on his life, the ordinary moments they shared may become especially meaningful. These memories will remain part of the story of a young man whose absence is deeply felt,” it stated.
