Ghanaian musician Arathejay, known in private life as Samuel Offei Ankrah, has opened up about the inspiration behind his music career, revealing that his decision to pursue music was driven by a desire to promote positive and uplifting messages.
Speaking in an interview on Oyerepa Entertainment Review, Arathejay explained that he realised many songs lacked the right message, which motivated him to use his talent to inspire and encourage others.
“I realised the message in people’s songs was not right, so I decided to do music to correct that error. My decision to do music was about sending a good message to people through my songs,” he said.
According to him, during his high school days at PRESEC, he began recording songs with the goal of motivating others, especially after noticing that many tracks he listened to did not inspire him.
Sharing more about his background, Arathejay disclosed that his father was a pastor in Kenya, but despite his Christian upbringing, he chose not to do strictly gospel music. Instead, he decided to create secular music infused with godly and inspirational messages that touch lives.
“My father was a pastor in Kenya, but I decided not to do gospel music. I chose to do secular music that carries a godly message to encourage others. But I also have a song that talks about Jesus Christ,” he added.
Arathejay emphasised that his ultimate goal is to use his music as a tool to inspire hope, spread positivity, and connect people to their faith through everyday experiences.
The “Jesus Christ 2” hitmaker is currently out with his new music album “Odyssey Album”, which is gaining massive attention on various Digital Streaming Platforms (DSPs).
