Ablakwa commends US Embassy for expedited visa processing for Javits Frimpong’s family
Foreign Affairs Minister Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa has commended the US Embassy in Accra for its expedited same-day processing of visas for the mother and cousin of the late Javits Frimpong.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Mr Ablakwa expressed gratitude to US President Donald Trump and New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani for their special intervention in facilitating the visa process.
He said the arrangements had been completed for Madam Doris Adu Gyamfi and her niece to travel to the United States within hours.
“All is now set for Madam Doris Adu Gyamfi and her niece to depart Ghana for the US in the next few hours,” he stated.
The Foreign Affairs Minister added that the Government of Ghana remained in close communication with US authorities regarding the status of investigations into the circumstances surrounding Javits Frimpong’s death.
He stressed that the government would continue to pursue justice for the deceased and his family.
“We shall have no rest until justice is manifestly done,” Mr Ablakwa said.
He further assured Ghanaians that the Foreign Ministry and the country’s diplomatic missions would continue to actively pursue justice for citizens wherever they found themselves in the world.
“The Foreign Ministry and our diplomatic missions will continue to actively pursue justice for all our compatriots everywhere in the world — an attack on a Ghanaian anywhere in the world is an attack on all of us,” he stated.

Mr Ablakwa also expressed sympathy to the parents of Javits Frimpong and the entire family, describing the circumstances surrounding the death of the 15-year-old as heartbreaking.
“No parent deserves to lose their 15-year old in these heart wrenching circumstances,” he said.
He added that the government would continue to keep the bereaved family in its thoughts and prayers as efforts to secure justice continued.
