Motorcyclist Killed in Three-Vehicle Collision on Cape Coast–Takoradi Highway
A motorcyclist has lost his life following a fatal road accident involving three vehicles along the University of Cape Coast stretch of the Cape Coast–Takoradi Highway.
The collision occurred on Saturday, June 13, 2026, in front of the Rashid Sumaila Washing Bay and involved a Boxer motorcycle, a Toyota Corolla saloon car, and a Daewoo Metro Mass Transit bus.
According to the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS), the accident was reported at approximately 4:48 p.m., prompting personnel from the University of Cape Coast Fire Station to respond swiftly to the scene.
The Fire Service said the impact of the collision resulted in the immediate death of the motorcyclist.
Emergency responders secured the accident scene, managed traffic flow along the busy highway, and cleared debris to restore normal movement for motorists.
The police later took charge of the scene and conveyed the body of the deceased to the Cape Coast Teaching Hospital mortuary for preservation and further examination.
Preliminary eyewitness accounts indicate that the motorcyclist initially collided with the side of a Toyota Corolla before being thrown onto the roadway.
The rider was subsequently struck by an oncoming Metro Mass Transit bus, resulting in fatal injuries.
The accident caused temporary traffic disruptions along the Cape Coast–Takoradi Highway as emergency personnel worked to clear the wreckage and ease congestion.
The motorcycle sustained extensive damage, while both the Toyota Corolla and the Metro Mass bus were also damaged in the collision.
Police have commenced investigations into the incident and are expected to determine the exact circumstances that led to the crash following a comprehensive assessment of the scene.
