EC Deputy Chairperson Dr Bossman Asare resigns, Samuel Tettey retires
Government Spokesperson Felix Kwakye Ofosu has announced the resignation of the Deputy Chairperson of the Electoral Commission (EC) in charge of Corporate Affairs, Dr Bossman Asare.
According to him, Dr Asare’s resignation will take effect on July 31, 2026.
Mr Kwakye Ofosu also disclosed that the EC’s Deputy Chairperson in charge of Operations, Samuel Tettey, has retired from the Commission.
The announcement was made during a press briefing at the Jubilee House in Accra on Monday, June 15, 2026.
Speaking to journalists, the Government Spokesperson explained that Dr Asare had informed authorities of his decision to return to academia and continue his career as a lecturer.
Dr Asare has served as Deputy Chairperson responsible for Corporate Affairs at the Electoral Commission, where he played a key role in the administration and management of the Commission’s activities.
The departure of the two senior officials marks a significant transition within the Electoral Commission as the institution continues its mandate of managing Ghana’s electoral processes.
Further details regarding their replacements and transition arrangements are yet to be announced.
