“I’ll release our audios and conversations” — Benedicta Gafah fires back at Obinim
Ghanaian actress Benedicta Gafah has publicly challenged claims made by controversial preacher Bishop Daniel Obinim, insisting that she was the one who ended communication between them.
The exchange follows recent comments by the founder of International God’s Way Church, who revealed that he blocked the actress after reports surfaced of an alleged social media feud involving his wife, Florence Obinim. According to Obinim, he chose to distance himself from the situation to protect the peace and stability of his marriage.
However, in a strongly worded Instagram post, Benedicta Gafah rejected the narrative, accusing the preacher of misrepresenting the facts and being dishonest.
She wrote: “Standing on a platform and confidently claiming that you blocked me, when the reality is that I blocked you because you kept trying to contact me and I chose not to engage, is simply dishonest. More importantly, was it even necessary to mention my name?”
The actress suggested that she has remained silent for a long time despite repeated attempts to associate her with various controversies, warning that she may eventually be forced to release evidence to defend herself.
She added: “At this point, it feels like I’m being pushed to release certain audios and conversations into the public domain just so people can understand the truth. The irony is that I have consistently stayed in my lane, minded my business, and chosen silence over unnecessary drama.”
Gafah also expressed frustration over what she described as years of being dragged into stories and speculations involving people with whom she has no close connection.
She queried: “Sometimes I genuinely wonder if critical thinking has become so rare. Why is my name constantly being attached to people I’m not even close to? It has been almost a decade of the same recycled narrative, and honestly, can my name finally be allowed to rest?”
The actress further disclosed that she is currently in a committed relationship and has already introduced her partner to her family, making the recurring rumours even more upsetting.
“I have my own relationship, and I have even introduced my partner to my family. Yet somehow, every single time, my name still finds its way into stories that have absolutely nothing to do with me,” she said.
She added that the continued spread of such claims is unfair and damaging, urging the public to be more discerning before accepting allegations as fact.
The latest development adds another twist to the ongoing conversation surrounding Bishop Obinim’s marriage, with Benedicta Gafah making it clear that she wants her name excluded from matters she insists have no connection to her personal life.
