Ghanaian gospel musician, s Isaiah Kwadwo Apmong has advised fellow musicians to pay little attention to awards since the plagues they receive won’t fetch them food.
There have been several rumours and criticisms that, most musicians pay huge sums of money just to receive Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA).
The criticism mostly comes from the public, entertainment pundits and musicians themselves.
Charterhouse has however rubbished these claims innumerable insisting that, the selection of its winners is done based on both the voting system and the decision by the board.
But Great Ampong has described the award given at the VGMA as a wooden plaque saying it does not provide food for the artiste hence there is no need to pay for it.
“There is no need to pay money for a wooden plaque. Ours are in the house, it doesn’t feed us so there is no need to pay money for it.” He told Kingdom FM.
