A 56-year-old security man at Ayeduase Roman Catholic Junior High School has been arraigned before the Asokore Mampong District Court for alleged rape and sextortion involving two students of Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST).

The accused, Lloyd Kwaku Boateng, is alleged to have sexually assaulted, extorted money from, and intimidated the two female students on February 13 and April 4, 2026.

First Case
Police prosecutors told the court that the first reported incident occurred around 9:00 p.m. on February 13, 2026.

A 22-year-old KNUST student, whose identity has been withheld, had visited the Ayeduase Roman Catholic School compound with her boyfriend.

The court, presided over by Her Worship Hilda Esther Wryter, heard that Boateng allegedly approached the couple while they were hugging and accused them of engaging in sexual activity.

Prosecutors say the accused assaulted the boyfriend, seized their mobile phones and room keys, and demanded GH₵300 from him before forcing him to leave the premises.

According to Police Prosecutor, Chief Inspector Samuel Agyare, Boateng then allegedly threatened to strip the complainant naked and parade her by the roadside to humiliate her.

He is said to have forcibly taken her into a classroom, overpowered her, and raped her despite her resistance.

Second Case
The court was further told on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, that nearly two months later—on April 4, 2026—a second victim, aged 23, reported a similar incident to KNUST police.

On that night, the complainant and her boyfriend, identified only as Daniel, had gone to the school compound for fresh air.

Boateng allegedly used his position as a security officer to intimidate the couple, accusing them of breaching school rules by being on the premises at night. He reportedly dragged the boyfriend away and detained the complainant.

Prosecutors say he held her until the early hours of April 5, threatened her at knifepoint, and forcibly had sexual intercourse with her.

He also allegedly forced her to transfer GH₵150 via mobile money to his account, took nude photographs of her, and threatened to release them if she reported the incident.

Boateng was arrested on April 13, 2026, after allegedly attempting to use similar tactics on another victim. A boyfriend of one of the victims, with support from community members, apprehended him and handed him over to police.

Police Investigations
Medical reports for both complainants have been filed and endorsed by medical officers, confirming physical trauma. However, Boateng has denied the allegations in his caution statement.

Chief Inspector Samuel Agyare urged the court to remand the accused to allow for further investigations. He noted that duplicate dockets have been forwarded to the Attorney General’s Office for advice.

The case has been adjourned to May 8, 2026, following Boateng’s remand.
