Founder and leader of the BASE Movement, Dr. George Oti Bonsu, says Ghana must stop relying on the International Monetary Fund (IMF) for economic stability.
Speaking at the official launch of the BASE Movement, Dr. Oti Bonsu argued that Ghana, as an independent country, needs leaders who can move the nation forward without foreign aid from institutions like the IMF or the World Bank.
“We do not need foreign donors to survive as a country,” he told politicians.
The business mogul said agriculture and tourism can sustain Ghana’s economy without donor support. Citing the country’s geographical landscape, he stressed that investing in those two sectors is key to driving Ghana forward financially.
Dr. Oti Bonsu urged politicians to focus on how to run government business without depending on international financial support.
John Agbotey, a leading member of the BASE Movement, dismissed claims that Kennedy Ohene Agyapong was behind the formation of the movement, stating that the former MP has no idea how it was formed.
“Politics is a numbers game, and we will do everything humanly possible to make Kennedy Agyapong the flagbearer of the BASE Movement in the December 7, 2028 general elections,” he said.
He stressed that Kennedy Ohene Agyapong is the only person who can turn the current situation around for the entire country,
