“There is no Heaven; it’s all a scam” – Osofo Kyiri Abosom sparks controversy
Controversial Ghanaian pastor and actor Rev. Christian Kwabena Andrews, popularly known as Osofo Kyiri Abosom, has sparked intense debate after questioning the existence of heaven and Judgment Day.
In a resurfaced radio interview, the founder of Life Assembly Worship Centre dismissed the widely held Christian belief in an afterlife and a final day of judgment, describing them as deception and a scam.
“Where is Heaven? There is no Heaven. It’s all deceit. It’s all a scam. There is no Judgment Day anywhere. It’s a scam,” Osofo Kyiri Abosom stated.
He also questioned the use of the name Jesus, arguing that the letter “J” did not exist at the time he is believed to have lived.
“When Jesus came, the letter ‘J’ was not even in existence, so where did Jesus come from?” he asked.
The pastor further explained that although he uses the Bible as a reference, he does not make it the foundation of his church’s teachings.
“I just use the Bible as a reference. I have also done some like others, but basing teachings on it is out. My church members do not hold Bibles in church. They just come with their minds and heads,” he said.
Osofo Kyiri Abosom, who is also the founder of the Ghana Union Movement (GUM), has previously attracted controversy for challenging several mainstream Christian practices and beliefs, including Christmas celebrations and conventional teachings about Jesus Christ.
His latest comments have once again triggered strong reactions, particularly in Ghana, where Christianity plays a major role in the social and religious lives of millions of people.
The remarks are expected to fuel further debate over biblical interpretation, traditional Christian doctrine and the role of religious leaders in shaping the beliefs of their followers.
