“O2 is too small for us; we’re targeting Wembley” – A-Plus on Shatta Wale

Gomoa Central Member of Parliament and outspoken supporter of dancehall star Charles Nii Armah Mensah Jr., popularly known as Shatta Wale, has sparked debate with a bold claim that the O2 Arena in London is too small to contain the artiste’s fan base.

Speaking on ‘United Showbiz’, Kwame Asare Obeng, popularly known as A-Plus, said the 4Lyfe and SM Movement camps are instead looking at larger venues, including the iconic Wembley Stadium and Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, for a future Shatta Wale concert.

“As for us, the 4Lyfe and SM Movement family, the reason we can’t hold a concert at the O2 is because that place is too small for us. If Shatta plays a concert at such a space, people might get hurt or even die because the crowd is too much,” A-Plus said.

He claimed that the preferred target is Wembley Stadium, which can accommodate about 80,000 people, insisting that Shatta Wale has the following to fill such a massive venue.

“We are trying to see if they would give us Wembley. We would fill up Wembley Stadium, which has a capacity of about 80,000. That is where we want to play, or maybe Tottenham Stadium,” he added.

A-Plus’ comments come shortly after Livingstone Etse Satekla, popularly known as Stonebwoy, made history by becoming the first Ghanaian artiste to headline a concert at the OVO Arena Wembley on August 15, 2026, during his BHIM Festival.

The development has intensified conversations about Ghanaian artistes taking their brands to some of the biggest international venues, with Shatta Wale’s camp now openly talking about an even larger target.

A-Plus also congratulated Stonebwoy and encouraged other Ghanaian artistes to pursue major international milestones, while stressing that sponsorship and industry support would be essential to making such ambitious concerts possible.

“We would also congratulate Stonebwoy and urge all artistes to also try and do it. As we are saying all of this, support and sponsorship are also very important,” he stated.

If Shatta Wale eventually secures Wembley Stadium, the concert would represent an extraordinary step for Ghanaian music on the global stage—and put A-Plus’ bold claim that the SM Movement can fill an 80,000-capacity stadium to the ultimate test.
