Member of Parliament for the Nhyeaso Constituency, Stephen Amoah, popularly known as “Sticker,” has rejected a recent assessment by governance researcher Musa Dankwa that ranked him among Ghana’s underperforming Members of Parliament.

The lawmaker described the findings as inaccurate and misleading, insisting that his performance in office is reflected in the numerous development initiatives and interventions he has undertaken in the constituency.

According to Mr Amoah, his tenure as MP has been marked by projects and programmes that have improved the lives of residents, making it unfair to categorise him as an underperforming legislator.

He maintained that his contributions to the development of the constituency demonstrate his dedication to the people of Nhyeaso and his commitment to fulfilling his mandate.

Speaking on the assessment, the MP argued that the performance of a Member of Parliament should not be measured solely by the number of roads or physical infrastructure projects executed.

He explained that the constitutional responsibilities of an MP also include representing the interests of constituents in Parliament, advocating for policies that address their needs, and contributing to national legislation that promotes development.

Mr Amoah further questioned the methodology used by Musa Dankwa in compiling the report, suggesting that the research would have been more credible if it had included consultations with key stakeholders within the constituency.

He said opinions from teachers, traditional authorities, opinion leaders, and residents would have provided a more balanced and accurate assessment of his performance.

The Nhyeaso MP called on the researcher to review the findings, arguing that the report does not reflect the actual situation in the constituency.

He urged the public to disregard the ranking, insisting that his record in office speaks for itself and that he remains committed to advancing the development of Nhyeaso.
