Salaga South MP Launches Development Funds to Boost Education, Empower Women and Youth
The Member of Parliament for Salaga South, Hon. Zuwera Mohammed Ibrahimiah, has launched her flagship development funds, a three-tier initiative aimed at supporting women, students, and the youth in the constituency.
The programme focuses on education, women empowerment, and youth development, with the goal of promoting inclusive growth and social development in Salaga South.
Speaking at the launch ceremony, Hon. Ibrahimiah described the initiative as a strategic effort to invest in the future of the people, particularly in education, which she believes is the foundation of sustainable development.
She emphasized that the funds are not just financial interventions, but investments in the people, designed to remove barriers and create opportunities for the most vulnerable.
The education fund, she explained, will support brilliant but needy students, improve access to quality education, and ensure that no child is denied education due to financial constraints.
The MP also welcomed traditional authorities, including the Chief, Queen Mothers, elders, party executives, teachers, students, women’s groups, youth, and security services, who attended the event.
Hon. Ibrahimiah noted that the launch of the funds marks a significant milestone in the collective journey of the people of Salaga South towards building a stronger, more inclusive, and prosperous constituency.
The initiative is expected to have a positive impact on the lives of women, students, and youth in the area, and contribute to the overall development of Salaga South.
Hon. Ibrahimiah revealed that even before the official launch of the Chief Baba Ibrahimiah Educational Fund, several tertiary students had already benefited.
Beneficiaries include Madam Joyce Nyatey (midwifery student), Mr. Inusah Fataw (ICT student, UDS), Madam Adizatu (medical student, China), Mr. Nuredeen (education student, UDS), and Mr. Mugadash (medical student, UDS).
She called on stakeholders – traditional leaders, party execs, CSOs, and the public – to support the initiative, stressing that development is a shared responsibility. She’s confident that together, they can build a brighter future for Salaga South.
