One student is in critical condition while several others sustained injuries following violent clashes during an inter-schools competition between Obrachire Senior High Technical School (OSTECH) and Swedru School of Business (SWESBU) in Agona Swedru, located in the Agona West Municipality.

According to reports, the violence began on Thursday during the games hosted at SWESBU.

Tensions reportedly escalated on the final day of the competition, leading to a confrontation between students of the two schools.

Reports indicate that a student from OSTECH was severely beaten during the clash and is currently in critical condition. Several other students also sustained varying degrees of injuries.

The District Chief Executive for Awutu Senya West District, Hon. Eghan Kalala Nyamekye, has stated that no fatalities have been recorded.

He added that some of the injured students have been treated and discharged, while one remains in critical condition and is receiving treatment at the Trauma and Specialist Hospital.
