The District Chief Executive (DCE) for the Awutu Senya West District, Hon. Kalala Nyamekye Eghan, has dismissed reports claiming that a student died during clashes between Obrachire Senior High Technical School (OSTECH) and Swedru School of Business (SWESBU).

Earlier media reports suggested that a student had perished during violent confrontations at an inter-schools sporting event hosted by SWESBU in the Agona West District.

However, the DCE clarified that no deaths have been recorded in connection with the incident.

He explained that while several students sustained injuries during the clash, some have since been treated and discharged.

According to him, only one student remains in critical condition and is currently receiving medical care at the Trauma and Specialist Hospital.

“Some arrests have been made, but we cannot confirm the exact number of people apprehended. We are still investigating to ensure all suspects are brought to justice,” he noted.
