The Attorney-General and Minister for Justice, Dr Dominic Ayine, has assured the public that investigations under Operation Recover All Loot (ORAL) are advancing steadily, with a strong emphasis on building cases that can withstand the strict requirements of criminal prosecution.
Speaking during the Government Accountability Series on Monday, December 22, Dr Ayine said investigators are carefully refining initial findings to ensure that any charges filed are backed by solid and credible evidence.
“The ORAL investigations are progressing well, and we are strengthening the initial reports so that any charges we bring meet the standards of proof required in criminal trials,” he stated.
He stressed that the approach is deliberate and methodical, noting that thorough preparation is critical to securing successful prosecutions and preserving public confidence in the justice system.
Dr Ayine explained that ORAL is focused on evidence-based investigations, aimed not only at criminal accountability but also at recovering state resources lost through corruption, misappropriation and other forms of financial misconduct.
Operation Recover All Loot is a government-led initiative designed to investigate allegations of abuse of office, diversion and dissipation of public assets, with the ultimate goal of reclaiming funds on behalf of the state through both criminal prosecution and civil recovery where appropriate.
