Obaa Yaa, a 39-year-old widow and mother of four, has requested a DNA test to be conducted after a 24-year-old man allegedly refused to take responsibility for her pregnancy.
Narrating her story on Oyerepa Afutuo, Obaa Yaa revealed that the young man, Nana Bonsu, repeatedly pursued her despite her initial refusal to engage in a relationship with him.
“I told him I am older than him, so I cannot have an affair with him. But he said he loved me. I also insisted that my husband had died not long ago, so I could not be with him,” she told the programme.
She alleged that Nana Bonsu, who is said to be 24 years old from Bekwai in the Ashanti Region, assured her that he would take responsibility if she became pregnant.
“He kept insisting that he liked me and promised he would take responsibility for the child if I became pregnant,” she added.
The widow further claimed that after she gave birth, the young man refused to acknowledge responsibility for the child, prompting her to seek public intervention.
However, Nana Bonsu denied the allegations when contacted by the programme, insisting that he had never had any intimate relationship with her.
“I have never been intimate with her,” he said.
