NIA begins Ghana Card registration for children aged 6–14 in Volta and Oti Regions
The National Identification Authority (NIA), effective Sunday, July 6, 2026, has commenced the registration of Ghana Cards for children aged 6 to 14 at all its district offices in the Volta and Oti Regions.
According to a statement issued by the Head of the Corporate Affairs Directorate, Williams Ampomah Emmanuel Darlas, the exercise follows the successful completion of the initial mass registration campaign.
He explained that the registration of children within this age group has now been fully integrated into the Authority’s routine services, allowing parents and guardians to register their children without waiting for special registration drives.
“The NIA has now integrated the registration of children in this age group into its regular, ongoing services, making it easier for families to get their children registered without having to wait for special campaigns,” the statement noted.
The Authority has therefore urged parents and guardians whose children are yet to be registered to take advantage of the ongoing service to obtain Ghana Cards for them.
It also encouraged parents to visit any NIA district office in the Volta and Oti Regions with their children, along with the required supporting documents, to ensure a smooth registration process.
The initiative is expected to significantly increase the number of registered children in the two regions, strengthening national identification coverage and improving access to public services for young citizens.
