Dr. Likee spreads hope; pays hospital bills for new mothers at KATH
Fresh from his successful comedy show at London’s O2 Indigo, popular Ghanaian comedian and actor Dr. Likee has turned laughter into compassion, bringing joy and relief to several mothers at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) in Kumasi.
In a heartwarming gesture, Dr. Likee visited the hospital’s maternity ward, where he paid outstanding medical bills and discharge fees for a number of newly delivered mothers. His support ensured that many patients could leave the hospital with their newborns free from the burden of unpaid medical expenses.
Beyond settling hospital bills, the celebrated entertainer also donated essential items including diapers, detergents, and other baby-care necessities to support the mothers as they begin their journey into parenthood.
Speaking to the beneficiaries, Dr. Likee offered words of encouragement and hope, reminding them that difficult moments do not define their future.
“You should not be sad. If you are alive, you have not lost everything. God always provides help in difficult times. Be happy and stay strong. As you return home, continue to pray, whether you are Muslim or Christian.”
His message resonated deeply with the mothers, many of whom expressed heartfelt gratitude for the unexpected act of kindness.
“God bless you so much. We are very grateful,” some of the beneficiaries said.
The gesture has drawn praise from many, highlighting Dr. Likee’s commitment to giving back to society. For the mothers and families touched by his generosity, what began as an ordinary day at the hospital became a memorable moment of hope, compassion, and renewed faith in humanity.
As the comedian continues to entertain audiences both at home and abroad, his latest act serves as a reminder that true impact is measured not only by the smiles created on stage, but also by the lives touched beyond it.
