Black Sherif stamps authority at University of Ghana Stadium, Zaama Disco 2025
At exactly 12:22 a.m. on December 22, 2025, the floodlights at the University of Ghana Stadium pierced the darkness. Seconds later, Black Sherif emerged on stage, and the deafening roar that followed confirmed one thing: the wait was finally over.
From dusk deep into the early hours of the morning, the stadium transformed into a melting pot of music lovers from all walks of life. Thousands had gathered for a single purpose: to witness a live performance from the artist who has carried Konongo Zongo onto global stages.
Although anticipation was high, the concert did not begin at the advertised time. According to Zaama Disco and Black Sherif’s official social media pages, the show was scheduled for 8:00 p.m. on December 21, 2025. Instead, the night only began to take shape at 11:12 p.m., when MC and hypeman Kojo Manuel took charge, working seamlessly with the DJ to reignite the atmosphere.
The crowd engagement kicked off with Shatta Wale’s “Thunder Fire”, before transitioning into La Meme Gang’s “Godzilla.” The stadium erupted in song, as fans briefly forgot the frustration that had built up during the long delay between 8:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m.
Following Kojo Manuel’s high-energy performance, the concert officially got underway with a series of fast-rising acts who gradually warmed up the stage for the night’s headline act.
By 11:19 p.m., performances from artistes including Sekyerewaa, Omarion, Kojo Taadi, and others had fully locked in the audience, heightening anticipation for the moment thousands in the stadium had been waiting for all night.
When Black Sherif finally took the stage at 12:22 am on December 22, 2025, the stadium erupted. He made his entrance to “Iron Boy,” immediately pulling the crowd into the rhythm and setting the tone for the night.
Under the crisp harmattan sky, his opening felt deliberately restrained and intimate. Performing his “January 9” record, Black Sherif drew the audience into a soulful, mellow space. It was a calm, measured start that hinted at what was still to come.
That calm soon gave way to a run of songs from the “Iron Boy” album, delivered with the support of a live band that lifted the energy across the stadium. Each performance fed into the next, keeping the momentum alive.
The excitement peaked even further when supporting guests joined him on stage. KiDi, AratheJay, Gonaboy, AlorG, Sarkodie, Kofi Mole, Kojo Blak and Beeztrap all made appearances, turning the night into a shared celebration and keeping revellers on their feet.
Throughout the night, one thing stood out clearly. Ghanaian music lovers have a deep connection with Black Sherif and his album, “Iron Boy.” Nearly every song was met with fans singing along word for word.
Despite the delayed start and the agitation that filled the early hours, many attendees did not blame Black Sherif.
Fans largely understood that the delay was linked to the boxing event held on December 20, 2025, hosted by President Mahama’s son, which ran just hours before Black Sherif’s concert.
From the explosive presence of the live band to the smooth coordination of supporting acts, the night was carefully put together to leave a lasting impression.
It also marked a milestone, as it was the first time Black Sherif took his annual concert to a stadium stage.
