Head coach of South Korea National Team, Paulo Bento has admitted he is wary of Black Stars captain, Andre Ayew ahead of their second group game against Ghana at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
Ayew played a starring role as Ghana came close to snatching a draw with Portugal before losing 3-2 in their World Cup opener.
The 32-year-old scored his 24th goal on his 111th appearance for Ghana but it was not enough as coach Otto Addo’s side failed to build on it.
“Of course, we are aware they have high-quality players, Andre Ayew is one of them with all the experience he has over the years,” Bento said ahead of the game on Monday.
“Of course, we need to neutralize these (good) players and he’s very skilful with a lot of experience. But we need to view Ghana as a collective.”
Ghana will have to beat South Korea to stand a chance of progressing to the next stage of the competition.
Black Stars are bottom of Group H after Uruguay and South Korea played out a goalless draw.
