Veteran Kumawood actress, Madam Afriyie Forson has expressed worry over how producers in the movie industry dumped her.
According to her, the movie producers dumped her when she was only 30 years because they thought she was old.
“As for me.. I was sidelined within a short time. In the Ghana movie industry when you’re above 30 years of age the producers will dump you for the younger ones because they think you’re old”. She said.
Speaking on Oyerepa TV’s CineFie show, she expressed much displeasure about the unfair treatment movie producers gave her.
Afriyie Forson disclosed that Ghanaian producers prefer using the young actress than the old ones.
The 66-year-old actress further asserted that she was given only GHc10 in the first movie she was featured in.
“I was given only GHc10 cedis for my first movie, but the highest money I took was GHc50 those days”.
She however extended her gratitude to Osewus a popular Kumawood movie producer who did not forsake her.
Mad. Afriyie declared that she does not have a problem in life because she has entered into a poultry farm, she also gets support from her family.
