Two people have been critically injured after gunmen reportedly opened fire on a bus traveling from Bolgatanga to Kumasi.
The attack occurred near Walewale township on Tuesday, December 16. The bus, operated by Great Imperial Express and bearing registration number GY 3199-21, is believed to have been targeted amid local tensions in the area.
The shooting left the driver and a passenger in critical condition, prompting their immediate transfer to Walewale Hospital for emergency treatment.
Police have confirmed the incident and are investigating the motive while working to identify the perpetrators. Authorities have indicated that updates on the victims’ conditions and developments in the investigation will be provided in the coming days.
