Two people have been shot after gunmen reportedly opened fire on a bus traveling from Bolgatanga to Kumasi.
The attack took place near Walewale township on Tuesday, December 16. The bus, operated by Great Imperial Express and registered GY 3199-21, is believed to have been targeted amid local tensions in the area.
The shooting left the driver and a passenger in critical condition. Both were immediately rushed to Walewale Hospital for emergency treatment.
Police have confirmed the incident and are investigating the motive behind the attack while working to identify the suspects. Updates on the victims’ conditions and the progress of the investigation are expected in the coming days.
