A National Youth Organizer hopeful of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Brogya Genfi has angrily described the Akufo-Addo-led government as ‘useless’.
He said the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has destroyed Ghana’s economy after projecting Bawumia as the ‘Messiah’ of economics.
“2016 NPP presented Bawumia as the economic guru who knows about Ghana’s economy and can manage it well. What do we see now?” Brogya Genfi quizzed.
According to him, Dr Bawumia and the NPP government must apologize to Ghanaians for failing to manage the economy as they promised in 2016.
“I don’t know why this government cannot admit and apologize to Ghanaians. They are arrogant to the extent that they see themselves as the wise in the world.
Dr Bawumia was overhyped; he knows nothing about the economy. He can not even tell us how they are going to bring us out of this mess,” he said.
Brogya Genfi indicated NPP government experienced good governance in 2017 and 2019 when Mahama’s IMF program was still running. He said it was not the effort of the NPP economic management team but the IMF program that aided the country’s economy.
It could be recalled that during ex-president Mahama’s regime, Ghana was under the IMF program when the NPP took overpowers but the government extended the credit facility program with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) by a year.
“All the good economic indicators NPP government had was when the country was under IMF program. They even extended it. They have mismanaged the economy after we exited from the IMF. All the things they are doing are those that will lead us into a ditch.” He said,
