Talented Ghanaian female dancehall artiste, Angela Akiyana Kweku, popularly known in showbiz scenes as Akiyana has boldly declared herself as the only female dancehall artiste in the country.
The genre of music, thus dancehall in Ghana in some years ago was huge -dominated by males until the emergence of a few female singers like AK Songstress, Mzvee, Akiyana among others.
Undoubtedly, it is very difficult for females to rise to prominence in this category of music but a few like Mzvee and Akiyana have managed to maintain their positions as the top dancehall female artists in the Ghanaian music industry.
However, Akiyana on Okay FM’s ‘Ekwansodwodwo’ show snubbed her colleagues, stating that she doesn’t know any other female dancehall artist apart from her.
