Popular Oyerepa TV’s sports journalist, Eugene Adu Opoku aka Striker has chastised the Ghana Football Association (GFA) President, Kurt Okraku for attacking, ex-Black Stars skipper Stephen Appiah.
Recall that, the GFA boss posted Laryea Kingston’s picture on social media to troll Appiah in relation to some utterances he (Appiah) made recently about Ghana Football, that, “….football is run by footballers. It is not the grammar or English that you speak.”
Speaking on Oyerepa FM’s Today’s Sports Segment, Friday, Striker said, the GFA President shouldn’t have compared Laryea to Appiah.
He said, Appiah’s impact on Ghana Football has been tremendous and therefore Kurt Okraku should not attack him in any form.
“I saw FA President put Laryeah Kingston’s picture on social media and attack Stephen Appiah. I was like things are getting worse, we’re lowering our football standard.”
“Chairman (Kurt Okraku) I want to tell you that, Ghanaians love Appiah. His impact in Ghana Football is bigger than you, Kurt Okraku.”
“When we pair Kurt and Appiah, the majority of people will follow Appiah.” He added.
He further indicated that “Attacking personalities in this country is disturbing, especially when it comes to our development in all sectors.”
Striker however advised Stephen Appiah to venture into coaching courses so as to have some certificate in the job.
“I’m expecting Appiah to learn some coaching courses to be able to have a certificate in association football”.
