The Member of Parliament for Sene West, Hon. Kwame Ampofo Twumasi, has outlined measures being implemented to address pressing challenges in the constituency to the National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Aseidu Nketia, during his thank-you tour.
According to him, feasibility studies have been undertaken to provide telecommunication network access in Tato Bartor, Today Kope, and Nkyensen Bartor, as the first phase of efforts to connect the people. Gyasipo and Gyinggi Congo are slated for the second phase.
He informed the party chairman that residents in Gobu, in the Tato Bartor area, are concerned about the lack of electricity for economic purposes. He indicated that his efforts and follow-ups with the Ministry of Energy have yielded positive results, with engineers surveying the area and responding favorably.
Hon. Kwame Ampofo assured the National Chairman that, before his next visit to the constituency, construction of the nursing training school will begin, fulfilling a campaign promise he made, including the symbolic sod-cutting with the chairman during the 2024 election campaign.
He added that sufficient sand had been deposited on the land, and the process of securing land documents to prevent future disputes is ongoing.
Hon. Twumasi Ampofo appealed to Chairman Aseidu Nketia to advocate at Cabinet for a reliable source of funding for the completion of the Atebubu-Kwame Danso road and construction of other key feeder roads.
He revealed that, prior to intervention by the central government, he had initially funded the DRIP project to reshape the road from Kwame to Dwankrom through Akyremadi Bartor to Tato Bartor and its surrounding areas.
The lawmaker assured the youth that once financial clearance for job opportunities is obtained, he will ensure positions are made available. He noted that vacancies exist at the District Hospital, Health Insurance, the District Assembly, and the Senior High Technical School.
In response to the issues raised by the chiefs and the MP, Chairman Aseidu Nketia assured them that the matters would be forwarded to the appropriate quarters for immediate action and implementation.
He also called on residents to desist from repeatedly attacking police personnel and court workers during misunderstandings, warning that such actions would delay development and tarnish the district’s image.
