Former Ghana international Sulley Ali Muntari is confident of a positive outcome in the Black Stars’ challenge against Portugal in their opening game of the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
This will be Ghana and Portugal’s 2nd World Cup match, with the first meeting ending 2-1 in favour of the Portuguese side in 2014.
The erstwhile AC Milan midfield player visited the team’s training camp in Doha to engage and inspire the players down that route of the big game on Thursday evening at Stadium 974.
Muntari, who performed in all 3 of Ghana’s World Cups in 2006, 2010 and 2014, believes the gamers in camp are ready for the challenge and are optimistic about a positive outcome.
’They were calm, everybody knows it is a big game tomorrow. They have played many big games in their lives so it’s not new to them playing at this stage’’ he said.
‘’Of course, there is a little bit of pressure going into the match but I am hundred per cent sure that they will definitely do well’’ he added.
Ghana is placed in Group H where they first play Portugal, before taking on South Korea three days time and a titanic clash against Uruguay on December 2, 2022.
