A pastor identified as Prophet Kwadwo is demanding GH¢40,000 in compensation from his ex-wife, Prophetess Happy of the Christ Apostolic Church, following the collapse of their marriage just one month after their wedding.
Speaking on Oyerepa Afutuo with Auntie Naa on May 8, 2026, Prophet Kwadwo explained that he met Prophetess Happy through a fellow pastor’s church. According to him, he later contacted her after obtaining her phone number and proposed marriage, which she accepted.
However, he said the relationship deteriorated shortly after their wedding ceremony.
Prophet Kwadwo disclosed that he took a GH¢30,000 loan to finance the wedding, hoping the couple would recover the cost through monetary gifts received during the ceremony.
“I believed that after the wedding we would be able to settle the loan with the money we received, but she did not support me financially in any way,” he claimed.
According to him, disagreements between both families over food arrangements during the wedding ceremony created tension between them. He alleged that Prophetess Happy became upset and later expressed her unwillingness to continue with the marriage.
“She told me it was I who wanted to marry her, so I had to bear all the expenses myself,” he stated.
The pastor further alleged that a week before the wedding, Prophetess Happy informed him of her intention to end the relationship, but despite the warning, the wedding still went ahead.
Responding to the compensation demand, Prophetess Happy argued that she also deserves compensation because the two had sexual relations during the marriage.
“He has also slept with me, so if he is demanding compensation, then I will also demand compensation for sleeping with me,” she said.
Sharing her side of the story, Prophetess Happy accused Prophet Kwadwo of mistreating her during the marriage. She claimed he travelled without informing her and engaged in behaviours that contributed to her decision to end the relationship.
Although she agreed to pay compensation, she insisted that she would also seek compensation over the intimate relationship they shared during the marriage.
