“Nothing can make me hate Samini” – Stonebwoy declares

Ghanaian Afro-dancehall artiste Livingstone Etse Satekla, popularly known as Stonebwoy, has reaffirmed his deep admiration for veteran musician Emmanuel Andrews Samini, known professionally as Samini, describing him as a lifelong big brother whose impact on his career can never be erased.

Speaking during a TikTok live session, the BHIM Nation founder looked back on the early stages of his music journey and credited Samini for giving him an opportunity when he was still finding his feet in the industry.

Stonebwoy revealed that he first crossed paths with Samini while he was in senior high school, where he was informed that he could join Samini’s team after completing his education and pursue music professionally. According to him, Samini welcomed him after school and treated him as family, a gesture that shaped the respect he continues to have for the veteran artiste.

The “Jejereje” hitmaker explained that his relationship with Samini goes beyond music, insisting that disagreements or challenges could never change the appreciation he has for the man who helped introduce him to the industry.

“I was in SHS 2 or 3 when they made me understand that after I completed school, I would work with them. That was how, after I finished SHS, Samini took me in as his younger brother. That is why I call him my big brother. He is someone in my life; he cannot do anything for me to hate him. I see him as my big brother, and there is nothing that could ever make me hate him, whether it is good or bad,” he said.

Stonebwoy began his professional career under Samini Music, where he gained valuable experience and exposure before eventually establishing himself as a solo artiste and creating his own Bhim Nation brand.

The relationship between the two dancehall icons has faced occasional disagreements over the years, leading to public discussions among fans. However, both artistes have continued to acknowledge each other’s contributions to Ghana’s music scene. Their reunion on stage in recent years further highlighted the enduring respect between them.

Stonebwoy’s latest comments have renewed conversations about mentorship, loyalty and the role established artistes play in nurturing the next generation of Ghanaian musicians.
