DJ Azonto, a former DJ who is now a vocalist, is pleading with the VGMA to give him an award so he may humiliate his teammates.
His most notable accomplishment is the hit song “Fa No Fom,” which has garnered him numerous accolades and a nomination for the 2024 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA).
Yet, his squad does not appear to be overly impressed with him and is skeptical about his chances of winning.
He claimed that when he announced his plan to submit for the Best Songwriter award, his teammates made fun of him.
That notwithstanding, he tried his luck, not only in that category but five others.
“I filed for Artiste of the Year, New Artiste of the Year, Best Songwriter, Hiplife Song of the Year, Vodafone Most Popular Song of the Year and Best Afropop Song,” he said in an interview.
He shared the Best New Artiste of the Year nomination with Lasmid, DJay, Jay Bahd, Malcolm Nuna, Chief One, and Awura Abena out of the six nominees.
