The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has launched a scathing attack on President John Mahama’s 24-hour economy policy, describing it as a mere campaign promise with no genuine intention of implementation.
According to NPP’s Communication Director, Richard Ahiagbah, the 2025 budget presented by the Finance Minister makes no provisions for the policy, rendering it a “scam” designed to lure votes.
At a press conference, Ahiagbah pointed out that the only mention of the policy in the budget is a proposal to be brought before Parliament by the sector minister.
He criticized the government’s priorities, highlighting the allocation of a whopping GH¢2.711 billion for compensation at the Jubilee House, which exceeds the combined allocations for the government’s flagship programs.
