Lawyer Blay Nyameke Armah, the Member of Parliament for Sekondi, has strongly denied any involvement in the recent cocaine allegations, following claims made by his colleague, Rev. John Ntim Fordjour, MP for Assin South.
During an interview, Rev. Fordjour alleged that over $350 million worth of cocaine had been smuggled into Ghana, with a significant portion of it—valued at $150 million—reportedly linked to a 2024 parliamentary candidate from the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC).
The claim has sparked controversy, with some speculating that the Sekondi MP might be one of the individuals implicated.
In response to these allegations, Blay Nyameke Armah vehemently rejected the claims, expressing shock and confusion over his name being mentioned.
Speaking in an interview with Kwesi Parker Wilson on Oyerepa Breakfastime, on Oyerepa Breakfastime, the Sekondi MP refuted involvement in any cocaine deals.
“I don’t know anything about it, and I am surprised they are mentioning my name. I have never seen cocaine in my entire life. I don’t know whether it is yellow, blue, or green. I believe the NPP is still shocked by the seat I took from them,” he said.
Lawyer Blay also made it clear that he intends to seek legal action to address the damaging allegations.
“I will get my lawyer to work on the allegations. My lawyers will examine the photographs. I know the implications of the allegations, and the person who makes such claims must prove them. Even if they retract and apologize, it thing all over social media, and yesterday I received calls from the US and all over the world,” he added.
The Sekondi MP urged both his constituents and the general public to dismiss the accusations, asserting his innocence.
“I want to say, any allegation leveled against me, I know nothing about. I have never been involved in such acts, and I urge the public to disregard it.” He asserted.
