President John Dramani Mahama has officially handed over 40 specially built armored vehicles to the Ghana Police Service at a ceremony held at the Police Headquarters in Accra, underscoring the government’s continued commitment to strengthening national security.
Speaking at the event, President Mahama said the new vehicles would greatly enhance police mobility and operational efficiency while improving the safety of officers and the public.
He urged the Police Service to put the vehicles to proper use and remain dedicated to safeguarding citizens across the country.
Interior Minister Muntaka Mubarak echoed the President’s sentiments, assuring the public that the vehicles would be deployed strategically and effectively. He encouraged Ghanaians to remain calm and confident as the Police are now “ready and equipped” to maintain national security.
Inspector-General of Police Christian Tetteh Yohuno also addressed the gathering, issuing a strong warning to criminal syndicates. He stated that the Police Service is fully prepared to dismantle illegal networks and has already implemented comprehensive security measures ahead of the Christmas season.
