Ghana Goalkeeper Jojo Wollacott says he was unperturbed by calls of a section of Ghanaians questioning his maiden Black Stars call-up handed him by former Ghana gaffer Milovan Rajevac.
The Swindon Town FC shot-stopper says he didn’t pay attention to what people were saying about him joining the Black Stars and knew what he needed to do.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with Oyerepa FM, hosed by Sometymer Otuo Acheampong, Wollacott mentioned that all he needed to do was to train hard and excel in goal for the senior national team of Ghana.
“Honestly I didn’t pay attention to what they said about the call-up, all I needed to do was to train hard to excel”, Wollacott said.
Wollacott was in goal for the Black Stars when they beat the Super Eagles of Nigeria to book a place in the next FIFA World Cup tournament in Qatar.
The 25-year goalkeeper was recently named the best EFL Goalkeeper of the season.
