“I will live alone” — Obinim reveals $400K plan to leave marriage

Founder and leader of the International God’s Way Church, Bishop Daniel Obinim, has once again sparked public discussion after making emotional remarks about his marriage, his family life, and his decision to temporarily live apart from his wife, gospel musician Florence Obinim.

Speaking during a church service, Bishop Obinim said he has no intention of divorcing his wife but insists he needs personal space to restore peace of mind, revealing that he has acquired a $400,000 property in Trassaco where he plans to relocate alone.

“I won’t leave my marriage. As I’m speaking with you, I have bought a $400k house at Trassaco. I have to move in by Monday. I am going alone,” he told his congregation.

He further insisted that his decision is not rooted in marital breakdown but in emotional strain, stressing that he still values his family deeply.

He added that, “Please, I can swear with oil that I have never thought about divorcing my wife. But I want to stay back, so I will go there by Monday. I will occasionally come and visit my family. I know my children. I know they love me so much. They love their mother as well, but I know what I’m talking about. They will want to follow me, but I will force them to stay with their mother so that I will have my peace of mind.”

Bishop Obinim also urged the public to understand his position, warning that constant pressure and emotional strain could have serious consequences.

“I beg you, if you all care about me—otherwise, grievances kill. Understand me. If you don’t understand me, it’s your business,” he said.

He further expressed frustration over public perception of his marriage, claiming that he is often blamed whenever issues arise involving his wife.

“Because since we got married, everything that happens to Florence is my fault. God knows I’m one of the top five best husbands in Ghana,” he explained.

The comments come in the wake of his earlier controversial remarks made during church service regarding his funeral arrangements, where he stated that only his children and church members should handle his burial, excluding his wife from the process. The remarks triggered widespread debate online and have since fueled continued public scrutiny of the couple’s relationship.
