GNFS recovers body of man from flooded drain at Kpando-Gabi
The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) has recovered the body of a man from a flooded drainage channel at Kpando-Gabi in the Kpando Municipality following a heavy downpour that triggered severe flooding in the area.

According to a statement from the Volta Regional Public Relations Office of the GNFS issued on Monday, July 6, firefighters from the Kpando Fire Station responded to an emergency call on Friday, July 3, after reports that an individual had accidentally fallen into an overflowing drain near the Kpando-Gabi M/A Junior High School.
The rescue team quickly arrived at the scene and began a search and recovery operation, which led to the retrieval of the victim’s body from the flooded drainage channel.
The GNFS said the body was later handed over to the Ghana Police Service to enable investigations and other necessary procedures to be carried out.
Meanwhile, the Service has urged the public to exercise caution during heavy rainfall and avoid attempting to cross flooded drains, streams and other waterways.
It cautioned that floodwaters can be fast-moving and unpredictable, posing serious risks to human lives.
