Professor Charles Ofusu Marfo, Provost of the College of Humanities and Social Sciences (CoHSS) at KNUST, has vehemently rejected the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) calls for a presidential debate, labelling it a complete waste of time.
During an appearance on Oyerepa Breakfast Time, hosted by Kwesi Parker Wilson on Thursday, Prof Marfo expressed his disdain for the NPP’s proposal, stating that a debate between Bawumia and Mahama would serve no purpose. Adding that it is “absolute nonsense” and “needless”.
Professor Marfo emphasizes that the country and the NPP government have pressing issues that require immediate attention and resolution, rather than devoting time and resources to unnecessary debates
“The Presidential Debate is absolutely ‘nonsense’. This discourse is just a waste of our time. There are a lot of issues we need to tackle or talk about,” Prof Marfo stated.
He added that, the debate will not solve the mess caused by the NPP government, for this reason Bawumia should concentrate on how to fix the economy rather than the calls for a debate.
“The political debate Bawumia is calling for won’t solve anything.”
