Choirmaster turns Beverly Afaglo’s shawarma business into cancer support project
Ghanaian musician Eugene Baah, popularly known as Choirmaster, is keeping the entrepreneurial legacy of his late wife, actress and television presenter Beverly Afaglo, alive through a new initiative supporting breast cancer care.
Under the initiative, GH¢1 from every shawarma sold by Beverly Afaglo’s Traffic Shawarma will be donated to the Breast Cancer Centre at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital.
Choirmaster announced the initiative on Instagram, describing it as a way of transforming the business Beverly built into a source of support for people undergoing cancer treatment.
“And there is an even greater cause behind every bite: GH¢1 from every shawarma purchased will be donated to the Breast Cancer Centre at Korle Bu,” the statement said.
The family said the initiative is also intended to preserve Beverly’s vision and ensure that her entrepreneurial efforts continue beyond her death.
“A dream she worked hard to build. Now, it is our responsibility to make sure that dream continues, grows and becomes a household name and a lasting legacy,” it stated.
Choirmaster has therefore encouraged the public, particularly colleagues in the entertainment industry, media personalities, friends and family, to patronise the business and help spread awareness of the initiative.
Traffic Shawarma was launched by Beverly Afaglo on April 5, 2024, as part of her business ventures, with operations expected to resume at outlets in Madina, Odorkor, Dansoman, Kasoa and Achimota.
Beverly, who was 42, died on May 24, 2026, after battling cancer. Her final funeral rites were held at the forecourt of the State House in Accra on August 8, 2026.
Through the initiative, Choirmaster is seeking to turn a business associated with his late wife into a continuing source of help for cancer patients, giving her entrepreneurial legacy a charitable dimension.
