One killed, eight injured in head-on collision on Kasoa-Winneba road

One person has died and eight others sustained injuries after a water tanker collided head-on with a Toyota Voxy at Tipper Junction on the Kasoa–Winneba Road.

The accident occurred on Saturday, August 15, and triggered an emergency response from personnel of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS).

Firefighters from the Buduburam Fire Station were dispatched to the scene, where they rescued eight injured victims who were trapped in the vehicles following the collision.

The victims were subsequently conveyed to the Mother and Child Hospital in Kasoa for medical attention.

However, one of the injured victims later died while receiving treatment, despite efforts by medical personnel to save the person.

The crash caused extensive damage to both vehicles. The Toyota Voxy sustained severe damage, particularly around the engine compartment, while the water tanker suffered partial damage.

The identities of the deceased and injured victims have not yet been made public.

Meanwhile, the exact cause of the accident remains unknown as investigations continue to establish the circumstances surrounding the crash.
