President John Dramani Mahama has expressed optimism that the ongoing dualisation of the Kasoa–Winneba to Mankessim highway will stimulate investment and generate employment opportunities for young people.
He made the remarks after inspecting progress of work along the corridor. The tour took him to Gomoa Budunuram, where he examined an underpass, before proceeding to Awutu Bereku.
Addressing the media, the President noted that the project is expected to significantly boost economic activity within the region.
“This project will attract more investors into the region and create jobs for the unemployed youth,” he said.
The Minister for Roads and Highways, Kwame Governs Agbodza, also commended the contractor, NagFairmont Construction Company, for the quality of work executed so far.
He expressed confidence that the pace of work could lead to the project being completed ahead of schedule.
“We are impressed with the progress and believe the project can be completed by the end of the year,” he stated.
The Kasoa–Winneba highway remains a vital transport link connecting Accra to the Central Region and other parts of the country. Its expansion is expected to reduce traffic congestion and enhance travel efficiency along the route.
