Daniel Boamah-Duku, a former Assistant Headmaster of KNUST Senior High School, has spoken out following the circulation of a viral video showing the current Assistant Headmaster, Charles Akwasi Aidoo, in a compromising situation with a female student.
Speaking in an interview with Kwesi Prker Wilson on Oyerepa Breakfast Time on October 1, 2025, Boamah-Duku expressed shock over the incident, saying he did not expect such behavior from Aidoo, whom he described as a longtime friend and colleague.
“I have known him since our early days, and I used to call him ‘Stonebwoy.’ I am surprised he would involve himself in something like this,” Boamah-Duku said.
While commenting on the matter, he claimed that the female student in the video had a record of misconduct on campus. According to him, the student had previously been disciplined by school authorities, expelled from the boarding house, and allowed to continue as a day student.
“No matter who you are, you cannot take advantage of children. The law forbids it. Even if a child offers herself, you should not engage her. God should help us all,” he stated.
Boamah-Duku stressed that the situation could have been avoided, adding: “Why would you even give your phone to such a student and get involved with her?”
Meanwhile, the Ghana Education Service (GES) has removed Aidoo from his position following the viral video’s circulation.
In a statement issued on September 29, 2025, the GES said it had acted swiftly to uphold the integrity of the teaching profession and ensure the welfare of students. It explained that Aidoo had been barred from accessing the school premises while investigations are ongoing.
“The GES remains committed to upholding the highest standards of professionalism, discipline, and child protection in all our schools. We strongly condemn any acts that compromise the safety, dignity, and well-being of students,” the statement read.
The Service further assured parents, students, and the general public that due process would be followed and that appropriate disciplinary measures would be applied in line with its code of conduct.
