An injunction that was sought by the former financier of the Hiplife musician, Black Sherif to prevent him from performing at events has been dismissed by an Accra High court.
It would be recalled that Black Sherif was sued by his former financier in the person of Mr. Shadrach Agyei Owusu on Monday 11th April 2022 after it was rumoured that he has abandoned the agency to ink another deal with Empire Entertainment without their knowledge.
This generated mixed reactions on social media as the musician was being slammed by some of his fans for signing a sneaky deal without the approval of his former management.
An injunction was proposed to be placed on the musician to prevent him from performing at any event until the case is resolved in court. The lawsuit also demanded that another injunction to be placed on the funds the musician gathered to prevent him from gaining access to the funds until the case is resolved.
Mr. Owusu demanded for damages and an amount of GHc1 million from the defendant for breach of contract.
After Black Sherif’s lawyer, Samson Lardy Anyenini argued against the injunction, the court on Tuesday 26th July 2022 has dismissed the injunctions placed on the singer since the plaintiff was unable to argue justifiably for his demands.
Justice Akua Sarpomaa Amoah, who presided over the case stated that the defendant will suffer an injustice if the court grants Mr. Owusu’s request.
