The Ministry of the Interior has announced revised curfew hours for several communities in the Gushegu District, following recommendations from the National Security Council.
According to a statement issued by the Ministry of the Interior Ghana, the new curfew takes effect from Monday, April 20, 2026, and will run daily from 8:00 pm to 4:00 am.
The directive applies to a number of communities, including Paboni, Yidaani, Kukpok, Busun No. 1 and No. 2, Nagnani, Nayagile, Donbin, Kolik, Tinyongu, and Klokpan.
The Ministry said the measure forms part of ongoing efforts to manage tensions in the area and ensure public safety.
Residents, traditional authorities, and youth groups have been urged to remain calm and cooperate with security agencies as steps are taken to restore lasting peace.
The Ministry further appealed to all parties involved to resolve their differences through dialogue rather than resorting to violence.
In addition to the curfew, a total ban has been imposed on the possession, carrying, and use of arms, ammunition, and other offensive weapons within the affected communities.
Government maintains that the measures are necessary to prevent further escalation and maintain stability in the district.
